Somewhere in between moving into a new place, getting mono, and changing my hair color (kind of) it became October. Perhaps the deluge of rust-colored leaves on the hood of my car yesterday morning should have tipped me off: autumn is here.
Still waiting on that chilly weather, though.
While we wait for Charleston’s weather to catch up with the reality that it’s October, here are a few get-it-while-it’s-hot recipes for the end of summery weather.
Watermelon Agua Fresca
- 2 cups frozen watermelon
- 1 cup coconut water or regular spring water
- juice of 1/2 lime
- 1 tbsp sugar
- pinch of salt
Blend ’em all together.
